- Doug here,
-
- > Aha, so with NWT you can make a completly new level from scratch?
-
- Not really - any level work is based purely on DEU or WadEd or DoomCAD etc..
-
- > DEU cannot edit graphics, replace graphics, or compile new WADs from individual components

-

- > NWT two seconds ago???) to replace the textures etc.?
-
- Use DEU for designing maps, and NWT for putting new textures in the PWAD to work with the new maps.
-
- They can both do MANY other things as well (different things), but that's the bottom line.
-

-
- Please don't ask for RTF - that would not be funny. :)
-

-
- > Yes, I havn't got one for example. :-)
-
- Good reason.
-

-
- Phil's our artist - he did all the raytraced images for Apex and our adverts. Also did some of
- the new Bad Mood title pictures I uploaded recently. He tends to create Doom maps now and
- again when he gets bored with 3DS & POV...

-
- VERY! After about 3 edits you want to stop and watch the TV instead. :)
-

-

-
- > Eh... I think I don't completly understand that. Contradiction? Do you mean that it

-
- What I meant was 'GEM' and 'Nice' don't go well in the same sentence. :)
-
- > I have gone GEM crazy... I can't stand anything that doesn't use GEM anymore (okey with some
- > exeptions..). I just love GEM. I can't explain it. It's just that great. :-)
-
- That's fine - so long as you don't impose your opinions on people who DON'T like GEM for other
- very good reasons.
-
- My view:
-
- 1) It's ACE for LOTS of things.
- 2) It's garbage for anything requiring rapid graphical interaction. i.e. Most of our stuff.
-
- And I don't expect anyone to agree. Just don't complain. :)
-

-
- That's real easy to say Magnus, but not so easy to actually carry out on every single Falcon
- TOS and software variation including BlowUP, FS, ScreenBlaster, VI etc.. etc..
-
- I've seen GEM do some real interesting things when returning from such situations...
-
- > So you will switch to truecolour only when viewing the textures? I havn't seen it so I
- > don't know how it looks, but I guess it will look great. :-)
-
- It's blue and white, with coloured bits where it counts. You move the cursor up and down the
- wad and hit an appropriate hotkey to import/export to/from a gif/raw/wav/pwad etc...
-
- >I could do it, but as it will probably be written in Assembler I think I will pass. :-)

-
- Point #1:
-
- It doesn't matter how good you are at the programming, so long as things get done.
-
- Point #2:
-
- When people do get things working, don't give them hassle along the lines of 'I don't like
- the colour scheme' and 'It would be nicer with realtime windows'. That's just going to ensure
- nobody ever does any tools at all, and probably lead to stupid arguments like some of the ones
- we have seen on NeST recently. :)
-
- Beyond this, you can't go far wrong where the tools are concerned, and I think these should
- be the groundrules. :)
-
- > I do agree wiht you on the last part. We realy need soem fancy tools to let the user do
- > some crazy things and to make Bad Mood so much better than Doom. :-)
-
- Exactly.
-

-
- Correct!
-

-
- > Just a realy bad joke. Ignore me...
-
- Done. :)

- Doug.
